End of August 1995, most German kids started into their new school year.
Meanwhile, I was stuck at the airport in Lagos, Nigeria, with my mom, who was close to a nervous breakdown. No cell phones back then.
After spending weeks in the jungle, people had started to call me “Lizard” instead of Lisa, as I was always chasing behind the next best critter. Mostly lizards, who in the end were always faster than me! 🙁
In Germany, unfortunately there are not too many lizards running around, so I focused on becoming a Foreign Language Correspondent.
I started my career in Luxembourg where I spent a total of 13 years. Six of them for a Big 4, before shifting to the position of a Corporate Secretary, responsible for the management of a portfolio of holding and property companies in the real estate sector with regard to corporate law requirements.
In October 2020 I was sworn in as a translator by the Higher Regional court in Koblenz, Germany.
Ever since, I have taken pride in helping local courts, doctors and private individuals with translating English language into German and vice-versa for official purposes.
